Nicolò Vignatavan, full name Nicolò Vigna Tavan (born December 1, 1991) is an Italian science historian and environmental engineer.
From father Luigi Vigna Tavan, an army general from Turin in Piedmont, and mother Danila Brambilla, a school principal from Piacenza in Emilia Romagna, Nicolò has, distantly, French and German origins: his maternal grandmother came from Paris, and his paternal great-grandparents came from Marseille and Konigsberg. After “Scheme and/or Verb” and “Technical-forensic statements”, to mention some of his youth works, in 2018 he wrote “Vignatavan attraverso la storia europea, un’ora di lezione“, a composition that combines history, philosophy and poetry. In 2020 he publishes some of his innovative research related to mathematical definitions, including those of point, derivative, infinite, infinitesimal and elastic calculation and, in 2024, some theories related to the theme of the philosophy of mind and language. Nicolò is an engineer specialized in the field of human-environment relations: graduated from scientific high school, in 2018 he obtained the qualification certificate to practice the profession of environmental engineer from the Ministry of Education in Rome and, in 2024, a third level university specialization at the Department of Philosophy and Pedagogy of the University of Turin, in the field of teaching students with disabilities. From 2019 he becames applied mathematical sciences professor at high school in Turin and Milan, specialized in school inclusion, in the dyscalculia sector and in teaching students with Asperger’s Syndrome and, from 2023, holds university courses in the field of history of science and school safety. He also directed two documentary films dedicated to the life of Christopher Columbus and Max Planck.
